On Monday April 20th, 225 BUILD leaders from over 30 institutions; cyclists, schools, congregations and neighborhood associations in North/Northeast Baltimore gathered at the Church of The Redeemer in Baltimore to meet with Director of Transportation Veronica McBeth and pushed for “safe passage” at four problematic intersections, receiving commitments from the DOT to improve pedestrian safety, with more work to be done

BUILD is pushing for “safe passage” at four problematic intersections:

  • Charles & Melrose

  • Northern Parkway & Bellona

  • Northern Parkway & Chinquapin Parkway

  • N. Parkway between Harford Rd & Old Harford Rd.

Improvements have been seen at some of these locations such as pedestrian crossing signage and freshly painted crosswalks, with BUILD continuing to seek progress on speed cameras and signal lights, among other items.
