Approximately 575 BUILD leaders attended the standing-room-only BUILD action on Sunday, October 6, at Macedonia Baptist Church, continuing their march toward One Baltimore.
Along with MD Housing Secretary Jake Day, Mayor Brandon Scott, and Mark Anthony Thomas, CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee, they gathered to celebrate the $1.3 billion in public money that has already been allocated to address Baltimore's vacancy crisis.
They also heard stories from different communities throughout the city recognizing the work that remains and that, to successfully end the vacancy crisis in Baltimore once and for all, BUILD, the state, the city, and the business community must commit to:
- Shared leadership;
- Shared values, including community-led development without displacement; and,
- Specific & transparent goals, benchmarks, and timelines.
